Last night I was at the cinema. At Govindas in Kings Cross. A real good place. At first you have an indian All you can Eat buffet, really yummie and then you enter that “world’s most comfortable cinema”. You can really sink into it like in your couch at home, and never wanna get up again.

And then the movie started. Forbidden Lies. The movie was shown first at the Adelaide Film Festival, an Australian movie by Anna Broinowski. It’s a documentary about a book and an author. The book “Forbidden Love” by Norma Khouri. It was a bestseller. Just published after 9/11 about a forbidden love of a muslim women in Jordan who falls in love with a christian man and got killed by that reason by her family. A book about a true story, or is it fiction in the end? That’s whats the movie is about. It builds up arguments if the story of dalia and her forbidden love is fact or fiction. It analyses the story, the author, in a journalistic way. Will you get an answer in the end? No. Go and build up your own opinion about it. Find out if Norma Khouri is a con or an artist. Difficult question in the end. But one is for sure, when ever you think there can’t be more about that women, she comes up with another shocking fact in her life. A good liar for sure. A good movie indeed. And well done by the Australian Movie Makers.
